Over 1.5 tons of marine debris cleared from Al Hail beach
More than 125 volunteers joined the Environment Society of Oman and The Sustainable City, Yiti on World Cleanup Day.
The Sustainable City, Yiti partnered with the Environment Society of Oman to clear more than 1.5 tons of marine litter from Al Hail beach, marking World Cleanup Day. More than 125 volunteers took part, with the campaign organised alongside OMRAN Group and Diamond Developers.
In 2022 to that point, the Environment Society of Oman had worked with over 200 volunteers to clear more than 72 tons of marine debris from Oman's beaches and coral reefs.

The response from the community was inspiring and serves as a reminder to us all of our shared responsibility for the conservation of our environment. On the occasion of World Cleanup Day however, we also remind the community that where there is no waste, there is no need for cleanups!
